We have crafted a 5-Year curriculum that gradually equips our community with the knowledge and skills to succeed in building a business. This curriculum is taught through bi-annual workshops and trainings.

We offer a socially-structured annual loan program. Every year, we begin lending to a cohort of 30 new businesses with a fixed 12-month repayment cycle and 20% interest. By attending workshops and showing business growth, these businesses receive an increased loan each year.

We believe that the success of our community members relies directly on the strength of the community itself. We are an active community that gathers each month for internal support meetings, sites visits to fellow Mayankho businesses, and regular celebrations.

How we operate
Mayankho Community Based Organisation (CBO)
Mayankho is officially registered by the Malawian Government as a CBO. A CBO is a local non-profit that works to generate improvements within a community on a local level. During the pandemic, we distributed over 3,000 Covid-19 support packages. In 2022, we planted over 1,000 protected trees in the surrounding communities. We are engrained in local support as well as for our community members.
Mayankho Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO)
Since 2022, Mayankho has been registered as a Scottish Charitable Incorporate Organisation (SC051999). Our Scottish charity is our primary fundraising hub. Any donation made to Mayankho will go entirely to the businesses we support in the region.
